The City of Ashland experienced high winds in the early morning of July 21, 2016. These high winds caused many trees blow down on both private property and in the public right-of-way. The Public Works crew is out clearing trees to open up road ways. In areas where trees fell on power lines, Xcel Energy will have to remove the lines before Public Works will remove the trees.

The City of Ashland recognizes the extreme hardship that several residents have experienced due to the effects of the July 11, 2016 storm.  In an effort to assist residents with clean-up efforts, the City of Ashland is allowing those residents who have reported either a storm or sanitary backup due to the July 11, 2016 to utilize free dumping services.

City Asks Residents to Report Storm and Sewer Backups from July 11, 2016 Storm

All City of Ashland residents who experienced flooding or sewer backups from the storm or other property damage, please call City of Ashland customer service at 715-682-7061 during normal business hours to report so that the City may document the total damages that have occurred within the City.  Please do this even if you have already taken care of clean-up activities yourself.  This is a very important step in the process when applying for State or Federal relief funds.

The City of Ashland and Ashland County Health Department have recommended that Maslowski, Kreher and 6th Ave Beaches in Ashland, WI, to receive funding from the DNR to be tested for E.coli contamination at least two times/week for the summer of 2016. The City of Ashland’s Bayview Beach will be tested day/week for the summer of 2016.
