Solid Waste and Recycling Schedule

City of Ashland Recycling and Solid Waste Information

The yard waste collection schedule is advertised in the newspaper just prior to the season. Leaves and non woody vegetation must be placed in brown paper bags next to bin. Paper bags can be purchased at Ace Hardware, True Value, & Wal-Mart.

Woody vegetation must be bundled in lengths not to exceed 4 feet. This will only be picked up twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

Yard waste can also be dropped off at the City Garage located at 2020 6th Street East. Bins are located on the east side of the building and all bins are clearly marked. Yard waste can be dropped off between 7:30 and 3:00 Monday through Friday, year round.

Starting in 2014 the City will be contracting with Eagle Waste & Recycling Inc. for its residential waste management services. Current customers will be receiving information in the mail regarding the current switch over from Waste Management Inc. This page is here as a resource for residents to help with this transition. Please read the FAQ handout that will be sent to residents for detailed information and to answer any questions you may have.

For some residents your day of week solid waste pickup will be changing, here is a general list of those changes.

  • All Friday pickups have been removed and most are now on Thursday with the exemption of residents East of Ellis Ave to Willis Ave who are now on the Monday pickup route.
  • Monday customers West of 4Th Ave West to Chapple Ave will now be on the Tuesday pickup route.

The recycling pickup will be moved to an alternating weeks “A and B” schedule, where each week day route will be divided roughly in half for either an A or B pickup. To determine which week you are on see the Recycling Schedule and Map below:
