The Sustainability Committee, created in 2018, is a group of residents and concerned citizens who would like to see sustainability pursued within City projects and initiatives. They meet regularly every month to organize workshops and discuss sustainability education and resources. The most important function of the Sustainability Committee is to provide input and guidance for the Planning and Development Department as well as City Council, on the sustainability projects and initiatives the City should focus on accomplishing.
Instead of an August Committee meeting, the Sustainability Committee and members of City Council will be participating in an energy efficiency program through KEEP (K-12 Energy Efficiency Programs) from UW Steven’s Point. They will learn about how to read watt meters and building thermometers, and what goes into a building energy audit.
