Meet Police K-9 Chase!
Officer Nick Ovaska is the new K-9 Officer in the City of Ashland. Police K-9 Chase is a Belgium Malinois that was born on January 31, 2016 in the Netherlands.
Officer Ovaska and K-9 Chase completed a 13 week training course with the St. Paul Police Department in the spring of 2017. That training consisted of obedience, agility, criminal apprehension, tracking, and article searching. In the fall of 2017, Officer Ovaska and K9 Chase completed a 4 week narcotic detection class that was taught at the St. Paul Police Department.
