Public Works Committee
The Public Works Committee is comprised of citizens who have a particular interest and experience relating to the City’s infrastructure. Members provide advice to the Public Works Director on any issue pertaining to municipal public works and utility improvements and services. In this Committee, they review capital plans and equipment purchases, make recommendations to address areas of potential violations or noncompliance, discuss and review contracts for professional services, study rates and fees for recommendation, and provide advice regarding issues sidewalk, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water and landfill projects.
ABOUT THE MEMBERS
The Committee consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council. They serve staggered two-year terms, commencing in September. One member of the Committee is a representative of the Council.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Public Works facility, beginning at 5:30 p.m. All meetings operate under the Robert’s Rules of Order regarding the open meetings regulations, and are open to the public. Citizen participation is welcome.
